The House of Amos is funded entirely by donations from caring individuals, community-minded businesses and churches, along with gifts and grants from charitable foundations. We are a private, non-profit organization which receives no funding from the government. We rely on the generosity of the community we serve to support us and the many services we provide.We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and your donation is tax deductible.
To Donate to the House of Amos:
- No cash donation is too small. Your $1 donation will pay for 7 cans of fruit or vegetables that we purchase from the Houston Food Bank. Your $5 donation will buy 20 lbs of rice. Your $7 donation will buy 50 cans of tomato sauce. Your $8 donation will pay for two days of food for a family of 2.

- Donate household items (dishes, clean, gently used sheets and towels, lamps etc) and small appliances (toasters, toaster ovens, TVs, DVD players etc) for our resale shop. Appliances must be in good working order. Donations accepted Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 12 Noon and on Saturdays between 10 am and 12 Noon.
- Donate clean, gently used men's, women's and children's clothes, shoes and toys for our resale shop. Donations accepted Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 12 Noon and on Saturdays between 10 am and 12 Noon. Please bring clothing on hangers, if possible.
Use your Kroger Plus Card:
You can help the House of Amos (“HOA”) raise funds each time you use your Kroger Plus Card, and it won't cost you a cent. Every time you shop at Kroger and use your enrolled Kroger Plus Card, Kroger will contribute a percentage of your eligible purchases to the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Fund.The Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program will donate $1 million annually. The House of Amos will earn a percentage of the $1 million equal to the percentage of total earned contributions attributable to it.
Here's how it works:
You will need to re-link your Kroger Plus Card to HOA each year. The first day you can re-link your Kroger Plus Card to the House of Amos EACH year is August 1st. All supporters must have a registered Kroger Plus card account online to be able to link their card to HOA.Do you use your phone number at the register? Call 800-576-4377 and select option 4 to get your Kroger Plus Card number. To designate HOA as your charity, go online at www.KrogerCommunityRewards.com.Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.Once you are logged in, click on Edit KrogerCommunity Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number. Update or confirm your information. Enter HOA’s charity number, which is 80467 and click on confirm.To verify that you enrolled correctly, you will see HOA’s name on the right side of your information page. Remember, a you must swipe your registered Kroger Plus Card or use you Alternate ID when shopping for each purchase to count. Use your Randall's Remarkable Card:
You can help the House of Amos (“HOA”) raise funds each time you use your Randall's Remarkable Card, and it won't cost you a cent. As part of their Good Neighbor Program, Randall’s will donate 1% of the total price of your groceries to the HOA each time you shop. All you need to do is link your Remarkable Card to the House of Amos.
Here's how it works:
Pick up a Good Neighbor Program brochure available at any Randall's Courtesy Booth and complete the application. You will need to provide the House of Amos' charity number, which is 3207. This will link your Remarkable Card to the House of Amos. When you are checking out at the register, ask the cashier to scan your card before your items are scanned. Every time you buy groceries and use your card, Randall's will donate 1% of your total purchases directly to the House of Amos.
