The primary service offered by the House of Amos is its Emergency Food Pantry which provides food to families in crisis. Emergency Food Pantry Hours:
Monday-Thursday (9 a.m. - Noon)
Saturdays (10 a.m. - Noon)
The House of Amos receives limited food donations from individuals and local food drives. The majority of food is purchased from the Houston Food Bank.
In addition, we receive bread from Whole Foods Markets and donuts from Delicious Donuts on Saturdays.
In 2011, the House of Amos Emergency Food Pantry served 22,084 individuals
The House of Amos additionally meets the emergency food needs of the Greater Houston Area through the following programs:
The House of Amos holds a monthly Food Fair to distribute fresh produce and other items provided by the Houston Food Bank. In 2011, food was distributed to 1,784 families representing 7,983 individuals through the House of Amos' Food Fairs.
Food Fair is held on the second Saturday of each month from March - October 2012 (exception: Food Fair is on the first Saturday in March only - March 3, 2012)
